About the Creators
Hi! We're Megan Dooley (left) and Rachel Wiley (right)
We're occupational therapists and the creators of the C.A.R.E.™ Checklist & Framework. With years of hands-on experience working with individuals living with dementia and their care partners, we’re passionate about supporting teams navigating the complex intersection of safety, consent, and dignity for people living with dementia.
We created this resource to help facilities feel more confident and equipped when it comes to assessing intimacy and touch—knowing when to support these meaningful interactions, and when to thoughtfully intervene. Our goal is to uphold residents’ rights while also keeping them safe.
We’re honored to share this work with you and hope the C.A.R.E.™ Framework becomes a trusted guide for ethical, person-centered decision-making in your community.
We also want to share a huge thank you with Nikki Wegner, North Dakota Long Term Care Association's President & Megan Flom, R.N., J.D. for their support and invaluable guidance
